Now I don't have to tell you how difficult it is to beat the Celtics as they've only lost 11 games prior to tonight, but it was even more difficult for the Dubs tonight. Without one of their captains, Stephen Jackson, and being on the back end of a back to back, the Warriors had to take on an angry Boston Celtics team headed by it's 3 all-starts in Garnett, Pierce, and Allen. Coming off a disappointing loss to the Jazz it was crucial that the Warriors come out tonight and step their game up to face the best team in the league and that's exactly what they did.

Without Jackson in the game it left room for someone from the bench to step up, and that man was Mickael Pietrus. Despite the swirling trade rumors and recent flat performances, Air France played one of his hardest games of the year. He provided much needed defense on one of the premiere scorers in Paul Pierce(5-13 FG) and a spark of energy when the Warriors looked like they were gonna bow out of it. As I've told some of my fellow Warriors fans, as much as I'd like to see the Warriors add a big man, trading Pietrus might not be worth it. Sure he has by far the most mental errors as anyone on the team (even more than Barnes), but it's in these games where it looks like no one is gonna step up that he actually does. Given the opportunities at the right position, he makes more good plays than bad, honestly.

Air France with the D!

The Boston Three Party did not have it's best game but Ray Allen did have his usual stellar night against the Warriors. He made six 3-pointers and shot 64% from the field and ended with a total of 32 points. Their defense however, was quite stifling tonight and they sure seemed to have the right blue print to limit the Warriors offensively. The Warriors did score 119 points but believe me, that was the hardest earned 119 points ever. They doubled Monta almost every possession whether he was coming off a screen or jumping into the lane. Ellis had to become a distributor, something he's working on but not is forte. And that led to a big night from Andris Biedrins.

Andris had 21 points and 13 rebounds, easily his best statline in recent weeks. Ever since the team signed Chris Webber he's seen his productivity decrease but he came back to life in the most important game of the year. He also added one monstrous block of Rajon Rondo that sparked a fast break.

But even with all of these guys stepping up it was up to our favorite All-Star snub to come to the rescue with his last second heroics. With the game tied at 117 with 6.5 seconds left I couldn't help but wonder about Baron's missed free throw a few moments earlier. He's been doing that a lot lately, splitting crucial free throws, and I wondered if that would come back to haunt us in overtime because the team looked tired. Had the Warriors let a win slip right through their hands? But Baron got the ball dribbled to the right pulled up for a jump shot and right there I knew it was good....and swish! Redemption baby! The one non all-star sticking it to the three all-stars. How you like them apples?

"Who else?"

Warriors win 119-117!

The Man: Baron Davis: 29 points, GW shot with .03 left.
Warrior Killer: Ray Allen: 32 points, 6 assists, 6-8 3pt%

Recap, Warriors Beat Pacers!

Somehow, someway...

...the Golden State Warriors pulled off tonight's win. Even with a terrible shooting night from the team, the Dubs somehow managed to steal a victory over a game Indiana team that showed it's will to win on the second night of a back to back.

Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Mike Dunleavy Jr., and Troy Murphy faced their former teams today. Dunleavy was booed every time he touched the ball. Was it warranted? Probably not, but Warriors fans will always remember him as a bust, even if he's doing better now. Murphy, Jackson, and Harrington were somewhat invisible in the game with only Harrington scoring double figures.

The game started out rocky with the Warriors shooting sub 40% from the field, sub 30% from the arc, and sub 70% from the line. A true recipe for a blowout. And for the most part it played out that way with the Pacers building a 17 point lead. But the Warriors never gave up and kept fighting. The tide turned when Jamaal Tinsley fouled Monta Ellis hard and was called for the flagarant. Ellis and Tinsley were face to face but Baron Davis came in a diffused the situation abruptly. Monta made his free throws and the comeback was on.

I'm the man!

Jermaine O'Neal tried all he could to win this game for his team with 27 points but in the end, it was not enough. Monta Ellis made key jumpers and an important tip-in late to put the Warriors ahead for good, finishing the game with a game-high 29 points. Baron Davis also provided some support with 27 of his own points while Azubuike contributed some minutes off the bench.

The Man of the game obviously is Monta Ellis. The One Man Fast Break, Mississippi Bullet, Babyfaced Assassin, whatever you call him it's all true! But tonight he's THE MAN!.

Dunleavy: "You're the real man, Monta."
Ellis: "Thanks, loser."

29 POINTS(60% fg), 8 REBOUNDS, 4 ASSISTS, 3 STEALS. Frantic! Adrenaline Rushes! Stressingly Stressful!

I'm emotionally drained and I love it! The Dub's up and down unpredictable style makes us all stress out when watching any game. When the Dubs are suppsoed to win... they almost lose. When the Dubs are supposed to lose... they pull an upset! As Dub fans... we all might die early of a heart attack! But an exciting life well lived!

The Warriors started out shaky in the opening minutes, but soon found their groove to make it a game to remember!

Mr. MVP Boom Dizzle: The "MAN" came through for us tonight. Baron played very MVP-esque tonight. Lining up 3's... takin it to the hole.. dishin out assists... he was the "MAN." Baron really shined in the 4th tonight. He seemed almost unstoppable.. taking long 3's and schooling "Lock down" defender, Mr. Dirty Dirty Bruce Bowen on one pocession after another. Going on 11-of-18 shooting... finishing with 34pts, 14 assists, 6 rebs. Pietrus! : I'd usually rip him a new one, but tonight Pietrius really came through for us and showed a few flashes of his contract extension at work. Pietrius was 50% from 3 point land at 3-of-6 and finishing with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting.

And Last but not least! My man....
AZuuuu Buike: Buike came off the bench with some much needed fire power. Going for 16pts on 7-of-7 shooting! The T-wolves held a lead in that game going into the second half but the Warriors overcame it with some tough defense and getting to the rim. Al Jefferson had a big game with his usual double-double but didn't receive enough help to get the win.

For the Warriors, the return home gives the fans an opportunity to see the team play during the holidays. A usual wednesday game at the Oracle against a less than stellar oppenent doesn't usually generate much interest, but tonight's game is nearly sold out and the crown should be electric. The Dubs need to use that energy and put this team away because the Timberwolves have shown the ability to score on the Warriors. Hopefully being back at home will energize Baron Davis's scoring so he can strengthen his All-Star chances.

The gameplan:

- Gift Returns: Warriors return home and give the same gift to the Wolves: a loss.
- Run and gun
- Stop big Al

DubTown Forecast:

- Monta Ellis goes off
- Jackson gets a technical
- Biedrins dunks on Jefferson..you heard it here first!

The Man: Monta Ellis, 22 points, 8 assists, 3 steals
PWK: Antoine Walker. I don't know why but the Dubs seem to not play as well against the bottom of the barrel teams and they seem to light it up when playing some of the elite teams in the NBA. I'm not sure if our beloved Dubs go into these sub-par games underestimating the other team or what but we need to consistently close out these teams with losing records.

Ner Jersey Nets, if you're looking at their roster then glance over to their record, you wouldn't understand why they have a losing record in the first place. They got Jason Kidd (arguably the best PG in the game), Vince Cater... and Richard Jefferson who is having a career season for New Jersey this year. The Nets have become known as the star-power team trapped within a mediocre franchise.

The Dubs are 2-1 on this road trip having suffer a lost to Detroit earlier in the week. The Dubs can win this easily with their run and gun ways and I'm pretty confident that the Nets cannot keep up with the Dub's intensity and Hustle. But, the Nets jut came off a passionate Overtime win in Miami on Thursday night. They will look to bounce back and hopefully get some more W's.

Interesting Fact: The Warriors have only won 2 of their last 9 games against the Nets

Game Plan:

- Run
- Run
- Rain 3's and run up the score

DubTown Forecast:

- Harrington has a great game (after his few week slump.. he's starting to bounce back) 26pts, 7 redounds
- OMFB aka Monta Ellis gets 2 dunks and racks up the fastbreak pts (10) on this slow New Jersey team

The Man = Monta Ellis is maturing rapidly, and I'm sure he's going to dominate the Net's slower guards tonight. I give it to Ellis slashing and driving his way to Victory!
Stateline: 26pts, 7 assists, 2 steals, 5 rebounds
Potential Warrior Killer = Richard Jefferson. Hopefully Cap'n Jack can contain the break out Jefferson or else he's going for another 25+ pts game.
Stateline: 32pts, 6 rebs, 3 assists

Result: Warriors: 121 Nets: 107

Go Dubs!

DubTown Daily: Bowl Season Underway!

It's wintertime and the holidays festivities are in full swing and you know what that means, it's college bowl season! The bevy of bowlgames started last night when the Utah Utes beat Navy in the Poinsettia Bowl. In a season of upsets and parity it was hard for even the experst to find a consensus number one team, nonetheless the average fan. And let's not talk about the BCS System. Ther are opponents and proponents to the system but I think this year clearly shows how much college football NEEDS a playoff. But in the end, the system put on the table a decent champonship game pitting LSU against Ohio St. However, there are other intriguing bowl games and I'll preview some of them and give my take on who will win.

Champs Sports Bowl
December 28th
in Orland, Florida

Michigan St. vs Boston College

This matchup will showcase an excellent quarterback in Matt Ryan of BC and a great pass-rusher in Jonal Saint Dic of Michigan St. Boston College was once ranked in the top 2, ready to be in the Championship game, but they lost 2 since then and fell all the way down to the Champs Sports Bowl, a privilege but no Championship game. The Spartans from Michigan St. like to run the ball with their feature back JaVon Ringer and premiere WR in Devin Thomas. Combine that potent offense with a defense that like to get after the quarterback and you have a recipe for success. If BC can't protect Ryan, then they're in for a tough game. My Pick: Michigan St. by 4.

Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl
December 31st
in Fort Worth, Texas

California vs Air Force

Another team that was ranked number 2 and championship bound is the California Bears. However they lost a tough game to Oregon St. and then went on a late season slide and ended with a 6-6 record. The Air Force team is coming off a 3 game winning streak to end the season and they'll be ready to face Cal and all their offensive stars. DeSean Jackson, WR, will be playing on Sundays next year and he is one of the fastest players in all of college football. But he's not the only one, LaVell Hawkins and Jahvid Best can all burn on the field along with running back Justin Forsett. Air Force is led by Chad Hall who is small in stature but big on the stat sheet. It will be a fun shootout I believe. My pick: Air Force by 1

Sugar Bowl
January 1st
in New Orleans, La

#10 Hawaii vs. #4 Georgia

A rare matchup of the WAC vs SEC. A matchup of two teams who feel snubbed for the Championship game. Hawaii is the only undefeated team left and Georgia was ranked 4th when both WVU and Missouri lost, lining up Georgia to be number 2, but conference rival LSU got the nod over the Bulldogs. The Warriors from Hawaii boast one of the highest scoring teams that strikes so quickly headed by quarterback Colt Brennan and his stable of receivers. Georgia is still somewhat upset not to be in the big game but they'll settly with the Sugar Bowl and they better be ready. Hawaii is no joke. A pure matchup of offense vs defense. I am a sucker for pass-happy offenses. My pick: Hawaii by 10

Rose Bowl
January 1st
in Pasadena, Ca

#7 USC vs #13 Illinois

The classic Pac-10 vs. Big 10 tilt. Another matchup of the offense of Illinois and the defense of USC. USC is probably playing the best out of all the teams, but Illinois beat the "best" team in Ohio State earlier in the season so both teams are ready for a triumphant win. USC will be playing a virtual home game against Illinois which will bring its spread offense against Keith Rivers(LB) and the Trojan D. John David Booty, Chauncey Washington, Joe McKnight, Patrick Turner, all these players have the talent to go to the NFL. But Illinois has Rashard Mendenhall and Arrelious Benn, both who are probably more athletic than any offensive player on USC. It will be a joy to watch to see if Illinois' speed on offense can beat USC's speed on defense. I think USC will be too much though. My pick: USC by 3

These are just some of the fun matchups college football fans will get to see this year. I really hope that NCAA gets their act together and tries to get a playoff in place so that the best teams can face each other and everyone can agree who the best team is each season.

Enjoy Bowling!

DubTown Daily: T-Hud's career ending injury

"I think Troy's probably done," coach Don Nelson said after Wednesday's shootaround. "I don't think he'll play again. I'm serious. It's unfortunate, but he has a hip problem, and I haven't heard a second opinion, but it doesn't look good for him.

Does T-Hud really have a life-ending injury? or is this just Don Nelson's way of saying he's just not working out? Either way, as a Dub fan... we can look at this both ways. It's really unfortunate to see anyone have a career ending injury and forced into retirement.

We've all been watching the Dubs this season and constantly saying "WTF" when Thud is running the point. And we'd say "WTF" again when he takes his ill-advised shot selections. Then "WTF" once more when he looks totally lost out there on the floor. Though it may be a tough time for Thud... for Dub fans we might have a chance to pick up another PG!

Unless the Dubs are already looking at mid-season trade deals, I say we should pick up 5'5 Earl Boykins. Some might argue that he's just like Thud where he's a shoot first PG, but Boykins can damn well shoot the ball better than Thud ever could. Our ideal backup PG is to give Baron a decent amount of rest, and I'd say Boykins is our man. He's still a free-agent floating around somewhere, and you know he's itching to be signed anywhere. We could do what the Dubs do best! Pick up a struggling player for the league minimum and make him a star! And we can't forget he used to be a DUB!

Last season when Melo was out for his suspension, Boykins literally tore it up averaging 20+ points a game. I can see Boykins coming off the bench with high Dub intensity along with some added firepower. The Dubs, who have a penchant of winning more games at home due to the raucous crowds at the Oracle have managed to be equally successful on the road. However, the final score of 111-98 does not fully disclose how difficult the Timberwolves were to put away.

Good game, Al. How about you come on board with the Dubs?

In the first half, the Warriors again got off to a slow start and the Timberwolves took advantage of lackadaisical defense from Golden State and their inability to finish drives to the rim. Behind the effortts of Al Jefferson, Rashad McCants, and Gerald Green, the T-Wolves built a lead that reached up to 14 points and it looked as if the Warriors would be in town for a letdown. Al Jefferson dominated the rebounds in the first half and McCants made a bunch of three-pointers to help extend the lead. The Warriors only had two fast break points in the first half and the Timberwolves were shooting better from the floor making for a bad equation for the Dubs. However at the end of the first half Baron Davis made a key 3-pointer to cut the lead to eight and that shifted the momentum to the Warriors for the second half.

The second half brought to life Monta Ellis, Al Harrington, and the Warriors' defense plus fast break. From just two fast break points in the first half the Warriors hustled and ended with 19 points off turnovers. Baron Davis also got into the act finding open shooters because he didn't have a good scoring night. BDiddy ended with 10 assists to go along with his 18 points. Monta Ellisdribbled and drove through the lane getting easy buckets and earning shots from the line while Harrington went hot scoring most of his 25 points in the second half. The Warriors had a scare at the end of the game when he went up for a layup and Al Jefferson had sent the shot away. However in the process, he hit Ellis in the back of the head and Ellis landed on the floor hitting his head on the floor causing him to lay on the floor motionless for a few scary moments. Monta Ellis came to his senses a little after trainer Tom Abdenour came to his side and it looked like Ellis only had the cobwebs knocked out of him. He went straight to the locker room while his teammates cleaned up the game to get the win.

The One Man Fast Break is at it again!

In the preview post I said that the Warriors had to maintain their advantanges in the FG%, rebounding, and assists departments. They won the assists(24-22) and the FG%(49-45%) but lost the rebounding battle mostly du to Jefferson being a beast on the glass. He finished with 14 rebounds, but Biedrins led all rebounders with 15.

So let's see how the DubTown forecast turned out:

Harrington had a great game: 25 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals in a starting role where he seems to shine.

Stop Al Jefferson?: Not really. Dude had 24 points and 14 rebounds.

Biedrins had more fouls than points?: 8 points, 4 fouls. I'm glad to say I was wrong about this one. I thought he'd get abused by Jefferson and he might have been from a scoring standpoint, but he won in the rebounding battle.

Antoine Walker?: Where art thou? He was nowher to be seen. Injured ankle.

Game Awards:

The Man: I'll say it was a tie between Monta and Al. Both had great games and stepped it up for the subpar scoring night from Baron Davis. Monta has 24 points and only 1 turnover, and it looks as if he'll be ready for the Nets, Thank, God.

PWK: Al Jefferson had a good night out, but not good enough. The T-Wolves made a little push at the end and if there was more time then they might have been able to work Jefferson inside. But alas, no luck for the T-Wolves and plenty of goodluck for Dubs!

Final Score: Warriors 111 Timberwolves 98

The Warriors improve their record to 15-11, 2-1 on this road trip, while Minnesota sallf to a dismal 3-21. Golden State takes a much needed two day break before they arrive in New Jersey to face Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson, and the Nets.

Go Dubs!

Game 26, Preview: Warriors @ Timberwolves

Golden State (14-11), 7th West/3rd Pacific

@

Minnesota (3-20), 15th West/5th Northwest

Time: 5:00pm PST
TV: FSN BA
Radio: 680 AM
Line: Warriors - 7.5

After defeating the Memphis Grizzlies, the Golden State Warriors take on another Western Conference foe with a less than stellar record. The Garnett-less Minnesota Timberwolves have sunk to the bottom of the NBA with only three victories this season. It will be weird for the Warriors to go into the Target Center, suit up for the game, warm up, and look across the court to see that the man in the number 5 jersey is some kid in an old Garnett jersey. Where KG at? Oh, I remember, their dimwitted GM decided to purge the future of the franchise he's working for now to create possible one of the greatest teams for the franchise he used to play for, the Boston Celtics. Good one, Kevin. McHale to Ainge(GM of the Celtics) for the score, Celtics Win! Some things just never change.

That's exactly the face we all made when you made that trade.

Jokes aside, there is a basketball game still to be played and though the T-Wolves don't have Garnett, they still have a pool of young talent headed center Al Jefferson and guard Rashad McCants. Randy Foye, who's been out indefinitely because of a knee injury has yet to contribute this season and rookie Corey Brewer has been inconsistent so far. The Warriors will have to watch out for Al Jefferson who averages a double-double and could dominated the glass if Biedrins isn't up to par. The T-Wolves got the most value out of the KG trade through Al Jefferson and though they aren't winning many games, Minnesota is happy to have a young center to build around. If he has a good game, the Wolves are never out of any contest.

What Golden State must do to win this game is maintain their advantages. The Dubs are better than the Timberwolves in rebounding(47.8-41.2), assists(23.4-22.1), and field goal percentage(46.4-45.9.) If the Warriors can maintain this theme in the game, then they should have very little trouble putting away the worst team in the league. That is unless, KG walks back through that door, but my sources say that's unlikely. His gig in Boston is much better. Expect BoomDizzle to have a good game as I don't think Sebastian Telfair can guard Davis or anyone for that matter. And if Biedrins seems he can't handle Jefferson, watch Harrington come in to make the Warriors go small and push the break. He needs to build on last game's performance with another strong outing. Even if the T-Wolves may be a young quick team, the Warriors should outsmart and out-hustle them.

Put that mouthpiece back in BDiddy, it's time to get back to work.

So in summary the gameplan for the Dubs:

- Rebound and push the break, as always.
- Stop Al Jefferson, or maybe just limit him.
- Take advantage of matchups: Baron vs. Telfair,

And here's the outlook on the DubTown Forecast:

- Harrington has a great game: 23 points, 7 rebounds
- Azubuike goes baseline twice and finishes with dunks
- Biedrins has more fouls than points.
- Antoine Walker makes a three then does his stupid shimmy dance, yuck!

The Man = Can't go wrong with picking Davis even though he hasn't been the man lately.
Statline: 29 points, 9 assists, 4 steals
Potential Warrior Killer = Al Jefferson. The Trailblazers seemed as though they were looking at another depressing and hopeless season.

Losing 10 out of their 15 games during the month of November and losing their top scorer, LaMarcus Aldridge... I thought the Trailblazers were just going to have to wait until next season when they get Oden back to make some splashes.

But into the month of December the Trailblazers are now making waves and I can confidently say they are "Tearin it up." After losing to San Antonio, Portland has been on a 8-game winning streak and there is no end in sight. When our beloved Dubs went to Portland, we all thought the game was in the bag and the Dubs would come back with another W! But mann watching Portland tear it up the way that they did gave me chills! Portland is SCARY GOOD. Who would have thought one of the youngest teams in the NBA would be running over elite teams like Utah (Twice!), Denver, New Orleans and our DUBs.. not to mention, they didn't lose by much when facing D-Howard and the Magics. We'll have to see how far Portland can go especially when they go up against the Western Juggernauts like Phoenix, Dallas and San Antonio. But once Aldridge gets back into rotation, and guys like Roy and Outlaw keep playing at the level they're at, who knows what they'll be capable of.

Players to look for:

Travis Outlaw - Is this guy the MAN or what? Who would have thought Outlaw would step it up so big. This guy is an absolute Monstarr. I'd look for Outlaw to have a break out-season and maintain his hot hands

Brandon Roy - Aside from Aldridge's scoring power, Roy has been on fire this season. Averaging 18+ pts a game... and 5+ assists... I'd say this man right here is one of the major factors in Portland's current win-streak. I'd like to see Roy run the point more often, during the month of December, Roy has increased his assists getting about 7-11 assists per game. None-the-less, big ups to my man Brandon Roy. Carrying his team on his shoulders and takin off!

Roy: "Hey Aldridge... Behind 34 fast break points the Dubs built a lead that reached 18 points as both teams scored a lot of points, but shot low percentages from three point land. Bench players provided a much needed spark tonight as Barnes and Azubuike had terrific floor games. Buike went 6-6 from the field while Barnes, though he didn't score any points, gathered key rebounds and seemed to be everywhere on the floor. Al Harrington also came in and provided some scoring, 17 pts, which helped maintain the lead when the Grizzlies made a late 4th quarter run. Ellis also contributed some fast break points and ended up with a total of 23 points. Baron Davis again was in foul trouble but in the 4th quarter came back when his team needed him the most and scored 4 crucial points and made a dazzling dish to Jackson for an easy layup. The Warriors also won the rebounding battle out-muscling the Grizzlies 52-35 on the boards.

The Grizzlies, who rank 4th in the league in 3-point shooting, struggled for three quarters shooting 1-20 from beyond the arc. Mike Miller and Juan Carlos Navarro took some time to get hot from three-land but in the 4th they both made key threes to cut the lead. Second year guard Kyle Lowry stepped in today and played a heady game, driving to the bucket and getting himself to the strip. He also played some good defense on Baron Davis. Rudy Gay was a complete monster this game and we'll elaborate later how well he played.

Let's take a look at how the DubTown Forecast really played out:

Rainin' 3's?: How about more showers here and there. Warriors shot 7-24(29%). Hardly making it rain.

Beans a double double?: Not quite. A decent game though with 12 points and 7 rebounds but he only played 13 minutes as he was only in there when Darko played, which was not a lot. He owned Darko when they were both in there, but the Dubs didn't quite need him that much tonight.

Mike Miller?: Yes, he did wear his headband. I guess you can have any hairstyle if you can launch 29 foot three-pointer and hit nothing but net. Just, stay on the Grizz, homie. Finished with 20 points.

OMFB aka Monta Ellis had 2 dunks?: I was half right, he had one. But he was again running around making easy buckets and distributing the ball to open players. He's getting better every game! They Said...who cares! I say, he's the next Iverson!

The Man award goes to Stephen Jackson and not Baron Davis. It's not that BDiddy had a bad game but Captain Jack was doin' his thang tonight!

A look at his statline: 28 points(50% fg), 12 rebounds, 1 steal, and NO technicals!

Potential Warrior Killer, Rudy Gay: Well, he didn't beat the Warriors tonight but we saw how great Rudy can be tonight. He led all scorers with 32 points and shot right around 61 percent from the floor. With some more help from his friends, he really would have been the Warrior killer. Maybe next time, Rudy. But hopefully not.

Rudy Gay: "You're not the man this time Cap'n Jack"

The Warriors climb to 14-11 while the Grizzlies fall to 7-17. They improve their record to 1-1 on this current road trip and will go to Minnesota on Wednesday to play the team with the worst record in the NBA. But unfortunately, our one man wonder is being beat out by the likes of:

Manu Ginobili? Or Mr. a la Flopper... Jason Terry and Jerry Stackhouse? What's with this Dallas bias.

These are all great players respectively, but in my personal opinion, to be an all-star you gotta be able to put your team on your shoulders consistently for that W-I-N. Baron is a true Dub night in and night out and he can hang with any of the top guards in the league. When healthy, Baron is one of the top point guards in the game. I blame this lack of respect for a true all-star to the minimal television coverage the Dubs receive. People might read or hear about Baron's greatness and heroic's but not many have the opportunity to actually witness it.

                                                                  "WTF Jerry Stakhouse?!"

We can complain all we want... but nothing will change unless we get out the Vote!
Check out the blog daily and click the All-Star ballot on the left hand side here. Golden State has a poor record on the second game of back-to-backs, 2-4, but they hope to regain their stride against a struggling Memphis team which has only four wins at home.

Golden State is coming off a tough loss but the silver lining of the Warriors' loss in Detroit is that starters Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson got plenty of rest which allowed some of the younger players to get some minutes off the bench. Memphis is coming a hard-earned win against the Orlando Magic, the same team that beat the Dubs at home. Rudy Gay and Juan Carlos Navarro have been playing well lately and it will be imperative for the Warriors to stop them. Oh yea, and there's also Pau Gasol on their team.

Although both teams like to score, the team that plays defense will win this game. With the Grizzlies shooting 38% from the arc, the Dubs must defend the perimeter. If they let Mike Miller and whoever else launch threes it will be a long night. Look at what happened in Portland.

Last time they met was in April when the Warriors went on their historic playoff push to end their 13-year playoff drought. Though the stakes aren't that high for this game, both teams need a win.

Cap'n Jack : "I hope the Grizzlies don't play D like this!"

The gameplan is quite simple for the Warriors:

- Create steals and push the break
- Second Chance points: I think Beans can have a good game against Donnie Darko
- 3's matchup: Defend the 3 on the def. end/ Make the 3 on the off. end.

BDiddy and Cap'n Jack need to get out of their funk and come back to life. The first half of their rotation needs to do the same. The bench needs to come in and provide some much needed scoring if the stars struggle to shoot the ball. Azubuike, Barnes, and Pietrus all need to provide their energy and timely shooting if the Dubs plan on winning tonight's game. The Dubs are 0-2 against the Pistons this season. The Warriors were handed an ugly lost today at The Palace... I'm sure we can blame the NBA for poor scheduling, but when our man Baron Davis goes for 2 points on 1-of-8 shooting we didn't have much of a fighting chance. Detroit manhandled us inside and dominated the boards with 47 rebounds to our 32.

Missing Stars:
Baron Davis - With his last min heroics against the Lakers, Baron goes for 1-of-8 shooting for a big 2pts. Nelli sat Baron early in this game, probably the first game where Baron didn't play 40+ mins. At least Baron finally gets some much needed rest and he can bounce back in time for tomorrow night's game against Memphis.

Monta Ellis - Finishing with 8pts on 2-of-5 shooting. Ellis had a few flashy moments, but overall Monta needs to keep his consistency and stay aggressive. We all love Monta with his unwavering swagger, but he's gotta stay consistent.

Biedrins - Looked like he was being manhandled on the boards going against Wallace and Mcdyess (who had 11 rebs) Once again Beans has trouble going against bigger centers and forwards.

Al Harrington - Back in November... Harringtonn was going on back to back 20+ games... Past few games.. seems like Harrington has fallen off the statline. Going for 3-of-7 for 7pts along with 1 rebs... Harrington needs to step it up!

Stack Jack! - The only starter to score in double figures, but it wasn't enough to bring the Dubs back from a devastating lost.

Barnes - He had a nice all around game. Going for 10pts, 6 boards and 5 assists... Barnes was the only Warrior looking good tonight.

Bukie - My man Bukie was almost non-existant today.

Pietrius "The Phantom" - The phantom of the opera has his mask off and he's still playing like he doesn't deserve his contract extension.

The ROOKs and Croshere:
Marco Belinelli - Here at DubTown... We're hardcore fans of the Italian Stallion and when Belinelli hit his 3, you know we were counting that. He hasn't lived up to his pre-season summer league hype but its good to see him get some long minutes and hopefully boost his confidence.

Brandon Wright - This guy was Ballin! Going for a season and career high of 10pts. Wright looks better and better everytime. I'm excited to see Wright get some playing time... and hopefully gets rotated up to the line-up soon. Out of all the rookies, Wright is really stepping up his game and he's looking smoother everytime we see him out there.

Croshere - I love this guy. Mr. High Basketball IQ. It's nice to see him getting some quality playing time. He can shoot the 3 and is an all-around good shooter. With the Warrior's shooting woes.. Croshere should get some more playing time for some much needed fire power.

The "Man" of the game goes to: Jason Maxiell
- 6 Monstarrr blocks
- 11pts in 26mins
- 4 rebs
- 1 missed Dunk

"I can do this all day"

Where Blogging History Happens: We Got Next

Welcome to DubTown, a new home for the die hard Golden State Warrior fans. We'll be giving our insight analysis on previews and post game opinions on our beloved Dubs.

Here at DubTown we welcome any feedback and feel free to leave comments for every blog from now on.
